If you’re bored of the same window view and are thinking to relocate your window, then wait a minute; here’s something really interesting for you! If you’re not satisfied with your daily window view and have $2,500 to $3,000 to spare, Winscape have the solution — Winscape Virtual Window. This new concept will give a new way to interior designing.

You might be wondering that how does it works and what’s new about that, these windows might be like digital frames and this and that. Have patience, we are giving a short description on this concept. They take two 46-inch Full HD plasma HDTVs, dress them up to look like windows, and then by using a hacked Wiimote controller and some nifty software have that on-screen virtual view that follows around as if you’re really looking out a real window. Step to the left and you can see more of vista previously hidden by frame; step closer and everything gets bigger.

Stand on your tip-toes and look down over window sill and Winscape will even show you what’s underneath. If you get bored of a standard scene, then you can change it as per your choice, as the software is designed to take 1080p 30fps footage and display it.

Winscape features include:

  • Custom Winscape software with configurable screen parameters.
  • Two HD plasma displays for great contrast ratio and wide viewing angles.
  • Video playback resolution of 1920×1080 with sound.
  • Still-image resolution of 4096 x 4096.
  • Fully embedded in wall for aesthetics and silent operation.
  • Tracking of one person in room for proper perspective presentation.
  • Scheduled on/off.
  • iPhone and web control of sleep/wake/scene selection.

Biggest drawback to this system is that it can only display content for one person at a time, and that too by wearing a specially constructed IR-emitting device in order for Wiimote to track them. Still, if you have a couple of displays, a Mac Pro and everything else lying around yourself, they’ll send you a copy of Winscape software for $9.95 and then various vistas for $10 each. The kit is likely to be there in market in July. Check out Winscape Video Demo.
