Windows 7 Pricing announced, pre-ordering started…

Microsoft announced it’s upgraded pricing for Windows 7. OEMs will start shipping PCs with Windows 7 in almost all language versions beginning on GA, October 22nd. Here’s the pricing for Windows 7.

The estimated retail prices for upgrade in US:~

  • Windows 7 Home Premium: $119.99
  • Windows 7 Professional: $199.99
  • Windows 7 Ultimate: $219.99

The estimated retail prices for full packaged in US:~

  • Windows 7 Home Premium: $199.99
  • Windows 7 Professional: $299.99
  • Windows 7 Ultimate: $319.99

You’ll be able to pre-order upgrades at much cheaper prices. This means you can pre-order Windows 7 Home Premium for $49.99 or Windows 7 Professional for $99.99 and in selected markets the pre-order Windows 7 can be available at a more than 50% discount. You can take vantage of this special offer online via selecting retail partners such as Best Buy or Amazon, or the online Microsoft Store.

This program has begun in U.S., Canada and Japan. The offer will end July 11th in the U.S. and Canada and on July 5th in Japan. Customers in UK, France and Germany, can pre-order their copy of Windows 7 starting July 15th which will run until August 14th.

Pre-orders in Europe will be for the full versions, and will be priced at roughly €49.99 ($70) and €109.99 ($154), for Home Premium and Professional respectively, with prices likely varying some between countries.
