ViewSonic enters eReader market with VEB620 and VEB625
When companies like Sony, LG, iRex, Owen and Barnes and Noble have launched their e-Book Readers, why should ViewSonic will be left behind? You got it right! ViewSonic has recently entered e-reader market with its two contestants — ViewSonic VEB620 and ViewSonic VEB625.

ViewSonic’s eReader duo is done with Plain Jane styling that seems to be not so appealing in front of Barnes and Noble Nook and Amazon’s Kindle. ViewSonic VEB620 and VEB625, both are thin, light and versatile measuring less than 11mm thin and weighting less than 0.26kg, that makes them comfortable to handle in palm of hand.
Both eReaders have a 6-inch display – complete with touchscreen layer on VEB625, together with 2GB of onboard storage and an accelerometer for automatic page rotation. There’s also an SD card slot for augmenting storage, and VEB625 throws in WiFi connectivity too.
Battery life is rated for up to 6,200 page-turns on VEB625 and 8,000 on VEB620; that’ll go down if you take advantage of MP3 playback functionality. eReaders have native compatibility with PDF, along with ePub, RTF, and plain text.
Both models are apparently already available in Europe. The higher-end model VEB625 is priced at £205 ($315), while the non-wireless eReader VEB620 is available for £175 ($269).
