Trimble, manufacturer of advanced positioning equipments, including GPS receivers, laser range finders and inertial navigation systems. Trimble introduced three new modules, Condor C1011, C1919, and C2626 to its condor family of GPS modules. These GPS modules are smart alternative to GPS chipsets for many consumer and commercial positioning applications. GPS modules makes possible adding Global Positioning System capabilities to a mobile device at reasonable price.

Trimble Condor GPS family modules have many common features including lower development costs, brilliant positioning performance and highest production quality standards. These GPS modules provide position, velocity and time data with leading edge acquisition times. These are designed to be used in portable handheld devices such as PDAs, cameras, communication peripherals and even as vehicle tracking and security products. Trimble Condor GPS modules support best components, multiple form factors for flexibility and top tier positioning performance.

Tiny Condor C1011, the small module is ideal for portable navigation products. It includes a 36-ball surface-mount interface Land Grid Array, which can be electrically connected to a printed circuit board (PCB). Measurement of this module is 10mm x 11mm x 2.01mm. Condor C1919 module is common with Trimble Copernicus II and Panda GPS modules. This module requires no costly I/O and RF connectors and measure 19mm x 19mm x 2.5mm. Condor C2626 module features a single 8-pin (2×4) male header connector for power and data I/O. Overall measurement of this module is 26mm x 26mm x 6mm.

These modules are capable of receiving Satellite Based Augmentation System (SBAs) corrections and also support GPS assistance (aGPS). These powerful modules can generate position fixes with high accuracy even under poor signal conditions. Condor receivers gives a configurable 1 PPS synchronized to GPS/UTC, within 25 nanoseconds and an update rate up to 10Hz. Its Condor GPS starter kit includes all tools for testing and evaluating Condor GPS receiver.

Condor C1919 and C1011 GPS modules are available with Trimble’s Advanced devices dealer network while Condor C2626 will be available in first quarter of 2010.
