Toshiba Unveiled Ultraportable Laptops - Portege R700 and Satellite R630
On 25th Laptop Innovation Anniversary Edition of Toshiba’s Digital Products Division, Toshiba unveiled its new series of laptops Portege R700 and Satellite R630. Portege R700 features New Airflow Cooling Technology & Honeycomb Rib Structure, allowing full voltage processor performance in Ultraportable Form Factor.
Building on long history of industry firsts & ultraportable laptop innovations, Toshiba’s Digital Products Division (DPD), a division of Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., announced that Portege R700 (U.S version), is world’s lightest 13.3inch full performance ultraportable laptop with an integrated DVD drive. Portege R700 provides business users an unprecedented performance & durability in highly mobile product with prices starting under $1,000. With starting weight that’s three pounds and 1-inch thin, Portege R700 is able to support latest Intel Core family of full powered processors as a result of new Airflow Cooling Technology. Innovative new cooling system is co-developed by Intel and Toshiba which uses directed streams of fresh air to cool, heat generating components. So, business users can get performance, mobility and longer battery life they need to stay productive on the go.
Equipped with Windows 7 Professional, laptops include a wealth of features and ports required by business users. Portege R700 features include connectivity WiFi a/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, optional 3G/WWAN, fast DDR3 RAM, ability to dock to a port replicator, an ExpressCard slot, spacious hard drives, an eSATA/USB combo port with Sleep and Charge as well as a built in DVD SuperMulti drive and Webcam.
Portege R700 also features a high capacity six cell battery with battery life rating of up to 8.5 hours. An optional nine cell battery can remain on when docked will increase battery life rating up to 12.5 hours. Portege R700 uses new airflow cooling system that, by pulling in cool air over the hotter components rather than pushing out hot air. It means these Toshiba laptops can use regular Intel Core i3, i5 and i7 processors rather than their less powerful ULV counterparts.
New high speed Port Replicator for Portege R700 that is sold separately for $199.00, provides fast access to desktop environment & eliminates hassle of connecting multiple cables. Port replicator features host of ports, including two ultrafast USB 3.0 ports, four USB 2.0 ports, Gigabit Ethernet, Line-In/Line-Out audio ports, HDMI, RGB and Serial connections.
This laptop will be available in three configurations: Portege R700-S1310 features the Intel Core i3 processor and a 500GB8 hard drive for $999.00 MSRP and Portege R700-S1320 features the Intel Core i5-520M processor and a high speed 320GB 7200RPM hard drive for $1,299.00 MSRP. Portege R700-S1330 features powerful Intel Core i7-620M processor and 128GB solid state drive9 for $1,599.00 MSRP. All three configurations come with 4GB DDR3 memory and Standard Three Year International Limited Warranty.
Toshiba also announced that Portege R700 will be available at Best Buy stores nationwide on June 27,2010. And Satellite R630 will be available from August 2010.
