T-Mobile USA gets Blackberry Curve 8520
It’s almost here after a long awaited time. T-Mobile USA, Inc., and Research In Motion (RIM) announced the new BlackBerry Curve 8520 smartphone, which will be available via T-Mobile retail stores, Walmart Stores, and selected authorized dealers in USA, from August 5.
The slim new BlackBerry Curve 8520 comes in two attractive colors from T-Mobile – black and frost and is an incredibly approachable smartphone. It serves easy mobile access to email, messaging (IM, SMS, MMS) and popular social networking sites, including Facebook and MySpace. It has rich multimedia capabilities and can access to music, games and other mobile apps for entertainment on the go.
Other specs & features include:
- New dedicated on-screen media keys to instantly skip songs, pause music or repeat favorite songs while easily answering calls.
- A full QWERTY keyboard and touch-sensitive optical trackpad for responsive, reliable typing and navigation.
- Built-in Wi-Fi 802.11b/g to arm customers with fast Web browsing and Wi-Fi calling.
- Flash memory of 256MB and next generation 512Mhz processor for enhanced performance.
- 1150 mAHr rechargeable Lithium battery, with a claimed talk time of 4.5 hours.
- 320×240 pixel screen with 2.64-inch diagonal color display.
- A digital camera of 2 MP with zoom and video recording.
- Includes 1GB card and a hot swappable microSD/SDHC memory card slot.
- Quad-band world phone: EGDE/GPRS/GSM (1900/1800/900/850 MHz).
It’ll be showing up in August in UK, with Orange offering it on both pre-paid deals and post-paid contracts. Later Vodafone and Carphone Warehouse will be offering it, in violet, as well as black. Now that makes it somewhat interesting!
