Pentax Imaging Company redefines the entry-level digital SLR category with introduction of it’s new K-x digital SLR camera. This camera offers high-end features including Live View, 12.4 megapixel CMOS image sensor, HD video and many more.

Priced at $649.95 for body with DA L 18-55mm lens14, the K-x is perfect for those who’re stepping up from a point and shoot digital camera to their first digital SLR.

Features include:

  • High resolution 12.4 MP CMOS image sensor with sensor-shift Shake Reduction for stabilized image.
  • Large 2.7” LCD featuring Live View with contrast, phase difference, and Face Detection autofocus for up to 16 faces.
  • Widescreen HD video to capture full 720p resolution at 24 FPS.
  • Creative processing and filter modes produce high quality images, while offering ability to explore artistic freedom through unique special effects.
  • True HDR image capture blends 3 bracketed images into a single picture with outstanding highlight, shadow, and midrange detail.

The PENTAX K-x is now available for pre-order on www.pentaxwebstore.com, not only in black, but also in white red and navy blue options as well. However, red and navy are limited editions. So, you have to grab them as soon as possible. The products will ship in October 2009 in three options:~

K-x twin lens kit for $749.95 with K-x body, smc PENTAX DA L 18-55mm lens and smc PENTAX DA L 50-200mm zoom lens.
K-x twin lens kit for $849.95 including a K-x body, the smc PENTAX DA L 18-55mm lens and the smc PENTAX DA L 55-300mm zoom lens.
