Nokia 5330 Mobile TV Edition combines DVB-H and 3G

Nokia added another handset to its mobile phone range with the launch of Nokia 5330 Mobile TV Edition. New version of this handset is described as “an entertainment hub” that combines EU’s preferred brand of mobile TV - DVB-H, music and gaming, social networking, “in one compact 3G device”. It features a 2.4 inch QVGA screen with a resolution of 320 x 240, a 1000 mAh battery good for about 6 hours, a 3.2 megapixel camera, 3G and built in DVB-H technology to take advantage of mobile TV.

With mobile broadcast TV consumption on the rise, by 2012 there’ll be over 300 million people worldwide watching TV on mobile phones. DVB-H mobile TV services are currently available in Ghana, Austria, Finland, Kenya, India, Italy, Namibia, Netherland, Nigeria, Philippines and Switzerland. Additional commercial launches will be expected during next 12-18 month in more than 20 countries. The Nokia 5330 Mobile TV Edition will be priced at around €155 ($232) before taxes and subsidies.
