Nikon D3000: A digital SLR camera with Guide Mode announced
In addition to Nikon D300S, one more DSLR camera with guide mode, was announced by Nikon. It’s Nikon D3000. Compare to D300S, it has less features but it’s an ideal choice for people looking to upgrade from point-and-shoot camera to digital SLR. It’s a pretty solid DSLR for $600, with a 10.2 MP sensor, a 230k pixel screen, 11-point autofocus system, a new Guide Mode, and an 18-55 NIKKOR VR lens.

- New Guide mode provides in-camera assistance for doing camera settings and shooting with professional techniques.
- Large 3.0 inches, 230k-dot LCD screen at back with brightness adjustment.
- Nikon DX-format CCD image sensor with 10.2 MP.
- Dust Reduction System of Nikon is included.
- It includes Nikon’s exclusive image processing system EXPEED.
- Six scene modes to adjust exposure, image processing, and other settings automatically, for superior image quality.
- Scene Recognition System, which utilizes 420-pixel RGB sensor, improves autofocus, auto exposure and auto white balance performance.
- Active D-Lighting enables smooth tone reproduction in high-contrast environments,
- Approx. 95% viewfinder frame coverage and an easy-to-view 18 mm eyepoint .
