Microsoft LifeCam Cinema HD Webcam now in 720p
Over the past couple of years, the webcam is there with most models topping at about 2 Megapixels. But now it seems that Microsoft is going to break the records with its LifeCam Cinema webcam, launching soon, offering a true HD experience in 720p resolution at 30fps.
Other features include a full 1,280×720 HD, glass lens, 4x digital zoom, auto focus, and a digital, noise-cancelling microphone which is mounted on the top of the camera. Microsoft has also implemented the ClearFrame technology which is meant to deliver smooth, detailed video.
The webcam’s body is made of aluminium and the stand works well with both desktop PCs and notebooks. There’s a Windows Live call button also, mounted behind the microphone. LifeCam Cinema can be connected to your computer via USB 2.0.
The LifeCam Cinema is compatible with Windows Live Messenger, Windows Live Movie Maker and Windows Live Photo Gallery. Now that sounds WOW!! It is compatible with Windows 7, as well as Windows Vista and Windows XP too.
You need at least a dual core 1.6GHz processor as a system requirement, but Microsoft recommends a 3GHz dual core processor and 2GB of memory, which makes unusually high specifications for a webcam.
The LifeCam Cinema is expected to hit the market on September 9th with a suggested price of around £69.99 (US$79.99).
