LG plans to launch 10 More Optimus Smartphones

Wall Street Journal has recently confirmed that LG Electronics Inc., is planning to launch 10 more smartphones & sell 5 million devices by the end of this year. Chang Ma, vice president of marketing for LG’s mobile-devices unit, plans to launch Optimus tablet computer globally by fourth quarter under its Optimus line. This September, LG Optimus smart phones will make its place in smart phone section.

LG Electronics has confirmed upcoming Optimus smart phones handset with dual-core Tegra processor made by NVIDIA. Microsoft Kin youth-centric device was most notable phone to use Tegra. Smartphones have focused on Qualcomm Inc.’s Snapdragon processor which is found in HTC Evo.

Regarding the tablet, LG’s vice president of marketing, Chang Ma, said that “it is going to be surprisingly productive,” which may or may not be a stab at Apple iPad. He added, “Our tablet will be better than the iPad”. Company’s first LG tablet will run on Google Inc.’s Android software and that will set itself apart from Apple’s iPad by concentrating on ability to create content rather than just displaying it. LG tablet will include content focused on creation like creating programs, writing documents & editing video. LG dual-core Tegra processor Optimus smart phone will also have creative benefits with high-end features which will focus on productivity. U.S. is going to be key market for Android-based Optimus Smart phones tablet.

The company believes that there is an opportunity for LG to grasp in smart phone market. LG Electronics has plans to come up with 4G technology phone consistent with long term evolution technology by early next year. LG Optimus smart phone line will flagship through 120 operators!
