HP added a new HP Mini 100e Education Edition Mini netbook into its Mini line of netbooks. It’s the first product aimed at students between kindergarten & 6th grade. “HP Mini 100e Education Edition” features durable and functional student friendly design that keeps things simple yet raises bar compared to similar products like the Intel Classmate. Starting at only 3.19 pounds with a 3 cell battery, the Mini 100e features 10.1-inch diagonal LED backlit WSVGA with 1024 x 600 display and 92 % full size QWERTY keyboard.

HP Mini 100e boasts wide array of technologies in a tiny package! It includes low power Intel Atom N455 processor and Intel NM10 Express chipset enabling the unit to run cooler. It uses less power & help improve battery life compared to its predecessor. HP Mini 100e offers 1GB of DDR3 memory for faster data transfer. Along with optional flexible battery solutions, it also includes three or six cell battery options. Variety of accessories are also available for HP Mini 100e so as to further improve the productivity of students in classroom and on the go. Features include:

Mini 100e has traditional clamshell design with an integrated carrying handle to make easier for small hands to get grip on the laptop. Additional durable features are - strong metal alloy hinges with steel pin axles, and spill resistant keyboard designed with protective Mylar film under the keyboard to prevent spills from damaging electronic inside. HP Mini 100e offers Windows 7 Starter, XP Home and SuSE Linux operating systems. HP Mini 100e includes education productivity and security software from Microsoft such as Microsoft Math, Microsoft Security Essentials and Microsoft Office 2010.

Pricing and availability:
HP Mini 100e will be available worldwide in July. HP Mini 100e price will be set on a per deal basis and it’s not expected to exceed $300 per unit.
