Fujifilm’s FinePix Real 3D camera launching in September
It’s been a long time when we’ve heard anything about Fujifilm’s FinePix Real 3D camera. But now, it’s going to be released in September with a pricing “around $600″ at the time of launch.
This 10-MP shooter employs two lenses, spaced nearly with same distance apart as human eyes, which allows to take simultaneous photos of same scene from different angles. That’s where its 3-D magic originates! When two slightly differentiable images are presented individually to the right and left eyes of a viewer, that person’s brain combines them into a single image, concluding in a stereoscopic illusion of depth. Previously, special viewing accessories like 3-D glasses or stereoscopes were needed for this to work. But now that’s over with this cam.
It’s 8.4-inch, LCD monitor on camera and stand alone display panel share similar technologies to solve problem of screen flickering and image ghosting, giving crisp, high resolution images in glorious 3D or standard 2D.
Newly developed “light direction control module” in the back of LCD, controls light to right eye and left eye direction which enables easy and high quality 3D viewing without special 3D glasses.
The other option is 3-D prints, which are made with clear plastic overlay acting as a kind of 3-D lens. Fujifilm is planning to launch an online service that will make 3-D prints for consumers.
