Ford disclosed new Taurus-Based Police Car
Ford, one of the largest automaker, released its latest Taurus based Police car. Company announced that, Taurus-based 2012 Ford Police car would be new successor to Ford Crown Victoria. This innovative car technology is more advanced and car is specially designed to handle rigors of police work.

Ford Taurus based Police car allows police to choose powerhouse that best meets their patrol requirements. It offers two 3.5-liter V-6 engines but no big V-8s, as in Crown Victoria. The standard version will be 25% more fuel efficient than current standard V-8. An efficient 3.5-liter V-6 engine delivers 263 horsepower that is E85 compatibility and gets significantly better gas mileage than Crown Victoria.
Other main features of Ford Taurus based Police car are:-
- Rear View Camera System: In rear camera mode, a color image with guidance markers on rear view mirror will assist driver in backing up.
- Blind Spot Information System: This system has two radar sensors located in rear quarter panels to detect vehicles in surrounding lanes.
- Standard AdvanceTrac ESC: Maintains intended path by measuring side to side yaw or skidding, by vehicle’s speed, steering wheel angle and throttle position.
- Reverse Sensing System: A tone will alert car driver to certain objects up to 6 feet behind vehicle.
- Ford SYNC: Ford-exclusive, hands free information system work with police after-market equipment such as sirens, lights and allowing officers to focus on task at hand.
This car support powerful standard engine and Ford’s exclusive EcoBoost technology, will provide ultra high performance to police. Taurus based Police car has more power, enhanced sophistication and can endure a rear-end crash at 75 m.p.h. Front seats of car has lower back support cut out to make room for utility belts and back seats are wrapped in durable vinyl. It is expected that, Ford Taurus based Police car will hit the market in 2012.
