Debit and Credit MasterCard molded as Display Cards
MasterCard is coming up with new smart Credit and Debit cards. These cards would be siblings of existing MasterCard with an integrated button. On pressing display one time, the passcode can be used to authorize online and phone transactions. It’s an innovative step to prevent bank fraud. On 10th June 2010, NagraID Security, subsidiary of Kudelski Group in La Chaux de Fonds (Switzerland) announced that its families of display cards has passed MasterCard (CSI-Card Structure & Integrity) approval process. With this, they also demonstrated required levels of safety, durability and compliance to ISO standards required for commercial launch of banking cards and introduction into the MasterCard’s brand standards and rules.
Innovative Debit and Credit MasterCard Display Card looks like a normal debit or credit card. But these smart cards has a button that enables card holders to use same card for standard banking payment functionality and additional small display. These Display Cards are designed, so as to provide very high level of security and reliability with ease of use. Press button simply will generate the OTP (One Time Password) for secure access to users online services. Philippe Guillaud, Executive Vice President & CTO of NagraID Security added that programmable nature of this platform makes it future proof. And one can expect more exciting and fantastic functionality in near future.
Password generation technology complies with requirements of MasterCard 3D Secure Chip Authentication Program (CAP). A touch sensitive keypad with twelve keys permit access to advanced function of authentication modes & electronic signature. Has enhanced security features like challenge response applications & PIN code card protection.
