The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers has approved the .xxx top-level domain specifically for online adult content and pornography. The approval was made on Friday, March 18, in its board meeting held at Westin St. Francis in San Francisco. ICANN is the governing authority responsible for managing the assignment of top-level domains (TLDs) like .com, .org, .net, country-code specific domains (e.g. .uk, .jp and so on).
