Everyone’s favorite HTPC software, Boxee just announced that they’ve partnered with its first electronics company. They’ll release a dedicated device which is designed specifically to get Boxee up and running with home theater at minimal effort.

Boxee is amazing cross-platform freeware media center program with a 10-foot user interface and social networking features designed for living room TV. Many people are already using it on their Mac OS X, Windows, Linux, Apple TVs and easiest HTPCs.

Not only that, system is about as robust as you can ask for with ability to stream media from countless online video sites and share viewing data with friends. The software which allows to watch online video content from sites like YouTube and Hulu.com and listen to music from Internet on TV, is now ready to finally get a box.

Boxee Box as a platform would:

  • make it easy for users to consume and find content online, no matter what the source.
  • give content owners and developers the tools to create unique experiences with a variety of business models.
  • enable CE companies to enhance Connected devices.

It’ll be the first connected device running Boxee, whether it’s on a connected TV, gaming console, BluRay player, computer or any other device. The company will show a mock-up of the box and reveal more details at its launch on December 7th. Hopefully, the upcoming Boxee box will bring all the goods at a fair price.
