Toshiba applied for BDA membership, new Blu-ray formats coming soon
Toshiba announced today that it has applied for membership of Blu-ray Disc Association (BDA) and there are plans to introduce new products supporting the Blu-ray format.

As a market giant in digital technologies, Toshiba has a wide range of advanced digital products, from DVD recorders and players, to HDTVs and notebook PCs supporting a wide range of storage devices, like hard disk drives (HDD), DVD, and SD Cards.
Toshiba has an aim to introduce digital products with Blu-ray formats including BD players and notebook PCs with built-in BD drives, in the course of this year.
It was not mentioned exactly what type of BD-capable wares it will produce, nor it disclosed any product launch time frames. Announcements for products with their details will be done in due course.
