Acer working on three Windows 7 touchscreen products
Acer is planning to launch three touch-enabled products which will take advantage of Windows 7, says a project manager from the company’s mobile computer department.
The manager, Shih Hung-wu also added that these touch-enabled netbooks might see good market acceptance if they’re to be marketed as cheaper alternatives to tablet PCs.
Acer is also reportedly looking at in-cell touch panel technology which will have good prospects, when it will be widely available.
In-cell touch solutions, that build touch components directly on the TFT-LCD panels, are much cheaper than built-on touch solutions, and are easier to apply on new products, Shih said.
